Our server at Rackshack/Ev1servers in Houston, Texas from July 2003 to June 2004.
Lain is the "God of the Wired" from the anime series Serial Experiments Lain. We moved to a cheaper server in order to cut costs.
lain was a Celeron 1.3 GHz with 512 MB RAM. Old MRTG graphs are still available.
Our server at Amenworld's French datacentre from June 2004 to August 2004.
Ruri was the computer operator on the Nadesico from the anime series of the same name. Amenworld sucked heavily so we moved back to Ev1servers as quickly as possible.
ruri was an AMD Athlon server with 512 MB RAM. Old MRTG graphs are still available.
Our server at Ev1 in Houston, Texas from August 2004 to October 2005.
Mika was Lain's sister in Serial Experiments Lain - we considered the name to be appropriate as we were moving back to Ev1. We moved from Ev1 to a more powerful box when we were maxing out Mika's capacity.
mika was a Celeron 1.3 GHz server with 1024 MB RAM. Old MRTG graphs are still available.
Mutsumi was the predecessor to Shinobu, and was based at Poundhost Internet Services in Maidenhead between August 2005 and May 2006
Mutsumi was a character from the anime Love Hina. Unfortunately she suffered a hardware failure on one of the CPUs, forcing us to find a replacement, funded by the donators at Green Hill Zone.
Mutsumi was a dual Pentium III 933 MHz machine with 768 MB ECC SDRAM. The system disc was an IDE drive, and the content discs were 2 SCSI discs in RAID-1 configuration. Old MRTG graphs are still available.
Shinobu was our last non-virtualised server, and was based at Poundhost Internet Services in Maidenhead between May 2006 and July 2010.
Shinobu was also a character from the anime Love Hina, and suffered the same fate as most other servers - hardware failure. The cost of replacement the failed components (RAID card and hard drive) with the ageing hardware, we decided a move to high-end virtualisation appropriate.
Shinobu was a machine with an AMD64 3000+ CPU, originally with 512 MB RAM, upgraded to 2 GB in 2007. The machine hard drives were originally a single IDE drive, later updated to RAID-1 SATA drives, also in 2007. Old MRTG graphs are still available.
